PC stiks may flood the market in upcoming years

Image
PC sales are looking bleak right now coming off the back of a historic slump in the final quarter of last year, and rather negative predictions for this year, but it's not all doom and gloom -- certainly some more niche devices are set to swim against this tide, and apparently one of those will be the humble PC-on-a-stick. These are devices like Intel's Compute Stick, the Asus Chromebit, and many other efforts from more minor vendors which started popping up later on last year -- essentially they're dongle PCs which you simply plug into the HDMI port of any display, and you've got a fully functioning computer just like that (though you'll also need a keyboard and mouse, of course). These hugely portable marvels of computing are surprisingly powerful these days, and are all set for a rapid gain in popularity according to figures from ABI Research. ABI reckons that stick PC shipments will hit 5 million units by the year 2021, from the relatively small number

leaked: samsung galaxy S7 and galaxy S7 edge.

Image
according to a report of a global newspaper, an employee of samsung has allegedly leaked out some features of the upcoming smartphones which are galaxy S7 and galaxy S7 edge. The Galaxy S7 smartphone will have a 5.1-inch display, while Galaxy S7 edge will reportedly have a 5.5-inch screen with curved glass on both sides. This report does not mention the rumoured Galaxy S7 edge+, which is said to have a bigger screen. The key feature of Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is said to be the camera, though the resolution is 12MP; this is a decrease in the resolution as last year's Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have 16MP camera. More importantly, the upcoming smartphones' camera will have f/1.7 aperture, among the lowest in the industry. This aperture allows the smartphone to capture more light while taking photos, thus delivering better lowlight photos. For colour reproduction and noise reduction, Samsung is using a dual-pixel autofocus. On the design front, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edg

CyanogenMod to introduce protected UI for Android users

Image
CyanogenMod is working on releasing a new feature as part of the upcoming update for Android users. The new feature will enable the users to assign a protected status for any of the apps on their smartphone. This list will also incorporate the pre- loaded system apps. Users can have a protected folder on their desktop and can drop the apps they want in that folder. As soon as the user protects the app, then he will not be able to launch that app directly or even via Chrome or Play Store without proper authentication. Users can also set the pattern of authentication according to their preferences. For instance, a user can assign a PIN password, pattern or even use their fingerprint for authentication. The company is still working on this feature and has not yet made any official announcement about the same. Last week, CyanogenMod also revealed that it is shutting down its secure message functionality WhisperPush. This is a secure messaging service which automatically

An Inkless Printer Makes Color Images With Tiny Microscopic Holes

Image
Considering printer ink costs more than booze and even human blood, it’s no surprise everyone’s on the hunt for a cheaper alternative. And that includes researchers at the Missouri University of Science and Technology who’ve created an inkless printer that works by perforating special paper with thousands of microscopic holes. There’s a catch, though. You could use the groundbreaking device to print out photos from your recent birthday bash, but to share them with your friends they’d need to peer into an electron microscope because this printer only works on the microscopic level. See that full-color version of the Missouri S&T athletic logo? It measures roughly one-billionth of a meter in size. Which leads to another catch, sadly. This printer doesn’t work on regular old copy paper. Instead, it uses a thin sandwiched material—just 170 nanometers thick —made up of two layers of silver separated by a layer of silica in-between. Images are produced by drilling microscopic h

This is the sony mutlifunctional smart LED bulb it's a 2w LED screw in bulb with a 40mm speaker mounted on the top of it. The users need no additional wiring to use the speaker ,it can be used through bluetooth and an app for android and apple devices. though the launch is made for japan only and no announcements are made by the company for global launch. the company is asking about $199 for the bulb. This is not a gadget first of its kind. some other companies have also made similar devices. and theres is no announcment regarding the repair of light bulb in case it gets exhausted.  this is a cool gadget but its too expensive as far as the usability is concerned according to me. you cant carry a light bulb everwhere in case you need a portable bluetooth speaker.

the future of shoes comes here !

Image
in the CES 2016 , many gadgets are being revealed one of them is this futuristic shoe. Forget the hoverboard. The coolest thing Marty McFly owned might actually have been the self-lacing Nikes he put on before stepping incredulously out of the DeLorean. While Digitsole’s not doing anything quite so normal-looking, and its Smartshoe 01 doesn’t even have laces, it’s still taking a big stab at the whole “futuristicshoe” thing. The Smartshoe 01s will warm your feet with a tap in a smartphone app. They’ll track your movement, your calorie burn, and even the wear and tear of the shoes themselves. Here’s the McFly bit: they’ll also tighten automatically around your ankle, so they fit exactly the way you want. With a sharp, angular black-and-white look, they look kind of like moonboots. Way cooler moonboots. For the fainter of heart, Digitsole’s also announcing a couple of saner-looking kicks. The Warm Series—one pair looks like old-school Chuck Taylors, another’s a set of pumps—ha

Wi-Fi Halow to replace Bluetooth?

Wi-Fi to have new generation. Goodbye Bluetooth                                          At CES 2016, many modern products as well as technologies were announced and the Wi-Fi Alliance (a nonprofit international association that “promotes Wi-Fi technology and certifies Wi-Fi products if they conform to certain standards of interoperability” ) made most people excited due to what they claimed. Accordingly, a new type of Wi-Fi was invented to work on low-power devices. It also will be able to travel further and better even through walls and waste less energy. As we mentioned, its name is Wi-Fi HaLow, considered as an extension of the upcoming 802.11ah standard. In addition, the Wi-Fi Alliance added that they wanted to begin certifying HaLow products in 2018, yet the first one might be shipped earlier. One special thing we heard is that this Wi-Fi tech is likely to “kill” Bluetooth. As we understand, future devices will probably use Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth to connect with o

Google Gadgets

Google Gadgets Google Gadgets  are dynamic web content that can be embedded on a web page. They can be added to and interact strongly with Google's iGoogle personalized home page (discontinued in November 2013, although iGoogle Gadgets still work on other websites) and the Google Desktop (discontinued in September 2011) application, as well as Google Wave (also no longer supported by Google) and Google Sites. Webmasters can add and customize a gadget to their own business or personal web site, a process called "syndication". Gadgets are developed by Google and third-party developers using the Google Gadgets API, using basic web technologies such as XML and Java Script. world's thinnest condom

Image
It's so thin it set records. A Chinese company has created the world's thinnest latex condom, snagging the Guinness World Record for the barely-there rubber. The so-called Aoni condom measures just 0.0014 inches (0.036 millimeters) thick, beating the previous record-holder, Okamoto of Japan, reported The Province . The ultra-thin condom was manufactured by Guangzhou Daming United Rubber Products, a China- based company that produces roughly 200 million condoms annually. Currently, the Aoni is available only in Asia, but Victor Chan, who led the project, is eventually hoping to introduce the product to North American markets. He said the design process for the thin but durable Aoni condom was challenging. "It was quite tricky," Chan told The Province. "It took a lot of work to arrange the right mix and fine-tune the ingredients to give us the right performance." Chan is also working on developing a vibrating condom that targets a woman's

now you can get this bond gadget

Image
Remember James Bond's tricked-out Aston Martin in the 1964 movie "Goldfinger" -- the one equipped with hidden machine guns, pop-out razor rims to slice pursuer's tires and an ejector seat? Wouldn't you love to outfit your Toyota Yaris with some of that stuff? The high-powered weaponry, alas, probably is a bit impractical, not to mention dangerous. But there is a company that offers an electronic license-plate flipper of the sort that Bond used to conceal his identity from prying eyes. The $79.00 Vehicle Plate Flipper doesn't allow you to impersonate a Swiss or French driver, but it does flip down at a 90 degree angle at the press of a button to display a message on an underlying plate for the driver behind you. There's also a special $74.99 version for motorcycles. We're not sure that this gadget will ever become widely popular, though, in part because some of the device's conceivable uses -- hiding your identity from red light cameras and poli

now recycle paper urself

Image
Recycling gadget may come on your office table ?     the world is taking leaps together in order to protect the environment . here's one more thing. U.S. businesses use about 21 million tons (19 million metric tons) of paper every year -- 175 pounds of paper for each American, according to the Clean Air Council. This has led to office recycling programs , "please think before you print" e-mail signatures and printers that offer double-sided printing. Now a trio of Chinese inventors hopes to add another device to the cubicle environment: the P&P Office Waste Paper Processor , which turns paper destined for recycling into pencils. The machine, looking a bit like a three-hole punch crossed with an electric pencil sharpener, was a finalist in the 2010 Lite-On Awards, an international competition that seeks to stimulate and nurture innovation. Here's how the pencil-making gadget works: You insert wastepaper into a feed slot. The machine draws t

you may be able to fly

Image
What ? Flying human ?               Have you ever wanted to leave the ground and soar like a bird -- or perhaps a bat In January 2012, a Connecticut-based inventor was granted a patent for what the application describes as "a completely dynamic human powered flying suit" that is modeled after the bat's style of aviation. The inventor explains in the patent application that bats are fellow mammals and the flying creatures "most closely related to human beings."  The device consists of a pair of strap-on batlike wings with rigid and non-rigid portions that can be manipulated by the wearer once aloft. Initially getting off the ground is a bit trickier: Unlike bats , who simply do what comes naturally, the wearer of the flying suit would have to be towed, or ride on a bicycle, skis or rollerblades down an incline and then assume a leaning- forward flying posture and leap into the air at the appropriate moment . The question is: Would this really

re-writeable paper ?

Image
Heard of re-writeable CD or drives , ever heard of re-writeable paper ?                            Printing has come a long way since the computer landed on the desktop. First, there were daisy-wheel printers, then dot-matrix printers, then inkjet and laser printers . The problem with all of these output devices, of course, is that they require paper -- lots of it -- and expensive consumables, like toner. Why can't someone invent an inkless, tonerless printer that allows the operator to reuse paper? As it turns out, this isn't a new idea. Xerox has been working with so-called electronic paper since the 1970s. Its most promising solution is a type of paper called "Gyricon." A Gyricon sheet is a thin layer of transparent plastic containing millions of small oil-filled cavities. A two-colored bead is free to rotate inside each cavity. When a printer applies a voltage to the surface of the sheet, the beads rotate to present one colored side to the

mind controlling gadget

Image
This gadget could make mind control a reality !                                        We have seen in many science fiction movies showing people using mind control techniques to control activities of another. But it seemed to be a mear imagination to use those powers. But it may become a reality                                        The helmet used by the U.S. military has changed dramatically over the years. In World War I , the M1917/ M1917A1 helmets, also known as "Doughboy" or "dishpan" helmets, protected the heads of American infantrymen. They were replaced in 1941 by the M-1 " steel pot," the standard-issue helmet in World War II, the Korean conflict and throughout the Vietnam War. By the 1980s, U.S. military helmets had evolved into a one-piece structure composed of multiple layers of Kevlar 29 ballistic fiber. The helmet of the near future, however, may contain something more than extra protection from flying shrapnel. An Arizona State

3D painting - wow

this gadget takes painting to the next level..   yes , you can draw 3D objects with this device . It's the 3Doodler    The 3Doodler is a 3D pen developed by Peter Dilworth, Maxwell Bogue and Daniel Cowen of WobbleWorks, Inc. (formerly WobbleWorks LLC). The 3Doodler works by extruding heated plastic that cools almost instantly into a solid, stable structure, allowing for the free-hand creation of three-dimensional objects. It utilizes plastic thread made of either acrylonitrile butadiene styrene ("ABS"), polylactic acid ("PLA"), or “FLEXY”, thermal polyurethane (“TPU”) that is melted and then cooled through a patented process while moving through the pen, which can then be used to make 3D objects by hand.  The 3Doodler has been described as a glue gun for 3D printing because of how the plastic is extruded from the tip, with one foot of the plastic thread equaling "about 11 feet of extruded material".
