Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based startup Gida launched a tiny wireless device that can be attached to valuables like keys and wallet and users can track these with smartphones. Called Yoky tag, the Rs 999 device has a maximum range of 150 feet and works on smartphones with Bluetooth 4+ and iOS 8+ or Android 4.3+ versions. Yoky tag has a built-in 32-bit ARM cortex SoC (system on chip), a 500mAh replaceable battery that lasts for at least 12 months and three-axis high precision accelerometer. The Yoky tag works by maintaining a wireless link with the smartphone, using Bluetooth Low-Energy feature. When the link is active, users can find the phone or tag and when the link breaks, the phone and the tag raise an alert. The device will beep loudly if users are about to leave behind their phone while the phone will similarly alert them if they are leaving behind the item tagged with Yoky. WhatsApp will not work on Symbian devices after December 31, 2016. The company has started notifying Symbian users that they will not be able to use the app on their phone from next year. A message alerting WhatsApp users on Symbian OS reads: "Unfortunately, you won't be able to use WhatsApp after 31/12/2016 because WhatsApp will no longer support your phone."
