Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based startup Gida launched a tiny wireless device that can be attached to valuables like keys and wallet and users can track these with smartphones. Called Yoky tag, the Rs 999 device has a maximum range of 150 feet and works on smartphones with Bluetooth 4+ and iOS 8+ or Android 4.3+ versions. Yoky tag has a built-in 32-bit ARM cortex SoC (system on chip), a 500mAh replaceable battery that lasts for at least 12 months and three-axis high precision accelerometer. The Yoky tag works by maintaining a wireless link with the smartphone, using Bluetooth Low-Energy feature. When the link is active, users can find the phone or tag and when the link breaks, the phone and the tag raise an alert. NASA might be able to determine whether or not there has ever been life on Mars. NASA announced on Friday they are ready to proceed in the final stages of design and construction of the new Mars Rover, which should launch in summer 2020 and hit the Red Planet in February 2021. The latest rover is set to explore and collect data of an ancient environment on Mars that could have been favorable to microbial life. The machine will collect soil and rock samples and save it until its return to Earth to determine if life was ever present on the planet. The rover will look very much like its predecessor Curiosity, but will have new features allowing it to complete the first investigation into finding out whether there is oxygen on the planet and availability of resources for future human missions. WhatsApp Will Not Work on Symbian Devices After December 31

WhatsApp will not work on Symbian devices after December 31, 2016. The company has started notifying Symbian users that they will not be able to use the app on their phone from next year. A message alerting WhatsApp users on Symbian OS reads: "Unfortunately, you won't be able to use WhatsApp after 31/12/2016 because WhatsApp will no longer support your phone." While WhatsApp in the past had also warned Symbian users that the support would be withdrawn by 2017, the company now has a date.
