Apple Watch to get flag-themed Olympic edition bands

Because, uh, that’s the only place you can get them. Apple is no different.

Following the lines of Samsung, the Cupertino giant Apple is all set to launch Olympic nylon bands for the Apple Watch in order to celebrate the Olympics 2016.

The catch, these national flag Apple wristbands will only be available in Brazil – specifically at the Apple Store at Village Mall (the sole location that will sell them) in Barra Da Tijuca, according to GQ. The report also states the bands will be available starting early August. Since they’re only available in Brazil, it wouldn’t be surprising if these became collector’s items eventually go for much more. The limited edition nylon straps are subtle enough to wear everyday and are a unique way to show your national pride and cheer on your country’s athletes.

At least one athlete has managed to get his hands on one of the straps early. Team USA Sprinter Trayvon Bromell has already been seen sporting one on his Twitter account. It’s what’s on his wrist in the image above.

The straps will become available in early August, but there’s obviously another way to get them, as sprinter Trayvon Bromell showed off his US -themed band on Twitter Thursday. Take a look at them below to decide for yourself if they’re worth an global flight.
