Xiaomi Redmi Pro with OLED screen, deca-core CPU could be a powerhouse phone
Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Pro on July 27.
Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Pro on July 27. Ahead of its launch, the company has hinted that the phone in question will come with an OLED display and probably a 10-core CPU. The company has taken the Weibo route and the aid of celebrity Chef Liu Shi Shi to tease the upcoming phone.
Chef Shi is seen cooking an OLED Ping and a ten nuclear double stem head dish in two separate Weibo posts hinting at the possibility of the Redmi Pro carrying an OLED screen and a deca-core processor.
To recall, the alleged Redmi Pro had recently made its way to benchmark website, Geekbench, revealing much of the spec-sheet of Xiaomi's new phone. The phone in question was said to be powered by MediaTek's Helio X25 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI.
The Redmi Pro 4 is also tipped to carry a dual-camera module on the rear and said to carry an aggressive price tag of 1,000 Yuan (roughly $150 or Rs 10,000). At its price point, the Redmi Pro looks like a capable successor to the Redmi Note 3. Whether or now it is the Redmi Note 4 in disguise is yet to be seen.
Xiaomi will launch two devices on July 27 in Beijing. One of them is the Redmi Pro, while the other is a mystery device (earlier thought to be a laptop) that Xiaomi calls a 'mysterious' small partner. Could be the Mi 5S, we don't know for sure.
The alleged Mi 5S is rumoured to have a dual-camera setup on the rear along with a pressure sensitive display akin to Apple's 3D Touch.
