This Tiny Device Helps You Track Your Belongings With a Smartphone

Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based startup Gida launched a tiny wireless device that can be attached to valuables like keys and wallet and users can track these with smartphones.

Called Yoky tag, the Rs 999 device has a maximum range of 150 feet and works on smartphones with Bluetooth 4+ and iOS 8+ or Android 4.3+ versions.

Yoky tag has a built-in 32-bit ARM cortex SoC (system on chip), a 500mAh replaceable battery that lasts for at least 12 months and three-axis high precision accelerometer.

The Yoky tag works by maintaining a wireless link with the smartphone, using Bluetooth Low-Energy feature.

When the link is active, users can find the phone or tag and when the link breaks, the phone and the tag raise an alert.

The device will beep loudly if users are about to leave behind their phone while the phone will similarly alert them if they are leaving behind the item tagged with Yoky.

The device also acts as a fitness tracker and measures steps, estimated distance and calories.

The app is available for free and can connect up to eight tags at any time.
