Reliance Jio 4G SIM that came along with early LYF smartphones seem to be working on any 4G device

Reliance Jio is expected to be launched for everyone on 15th August, and with that, wait of many customers will come to an end. While the Reliance Jio 4G service was only restricted to Reliance employees initially, the company decided to bundle its LYF smartphones with preview offers, so, who ever purchased a LYF smartphone was able to use Reliance Jio 4G service.


While the LYF smartphones did come with Reliance Jio 4G SIM cards, they were locked to the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) numbers of the LYF smartphones. What this means is that the Reliance Jio 4G SIM card only worked with the LYF smartphone that it came with. If you wanted to use it with any other 4G device, it wasn’t possible.

However, it now seems that the Reliance Jio 4G SIM cards which came with the early LYF smartphones are now working with some 4G smartphones from other brands as well. These are those SIM cards that recently got extension to the preview offer.

These Jio 4G SIM cards are reportedly working on OnePlus and Samsung smartphones as well as Apple’s iPhone SE. If you haven’t got extension to the preview offer on your Jio 4G SIM, wait it out, you might get it soon.
