PlayStation games coming to PC now

Sony is bringing the PlayStation Now service to Windows PC, which means subscribers can soon access PlayStation 3 games on their computer screen in the same way they’d watch a Netflix series.



Starting with Europe, PS Now is launching in the UK, Belgium, and Netherlands. A US and Canada launch will follow “shortly thereafter,” according to a new PlayStation blog post.

This will bring a wide selection of PlayStation exclusive titles to Windows PC for the very first time, including entries in the Uncharted, God of War, and Ratchet & Clank franchises, as well as beloved PS3 games like The Last of Us and Journey.

The recommended PC specs for using PS Now according to Sony include:

A minimum 5Mbps connection is required to use PS Now on any device.

PS Now gives subscribers access to a library of more than 400 PlayStation 3 games, all of which are streamed to the user’s device of choice (as opposed to being installed there). Much like Netflix or Spotify, subscribing gives you access to everything in the library. Sony currently offers two subscription options for the service: a one-month plan for $19.99 or a three-month plan for $44.99.

Sony has also announced that it will be releasing a USB adapter in September that will let DualShock 4 controllers connect wirelessly with Windows and Mac PCs. Currently only compatible with PlayStation 4 and some Sony television sets, PlayStation Now lets players access games from older Sony consoles, which are played through streaming.
